Mobile Apps

This week, we were asked to explore different mobile apps that could be used in the classroom. I thought it was reallt interesting to see the amount of programs that are used in app form. It shows how much our technology has evolved. Before, you had to actually go to classes and pay for classes to learn different languages. Now, with a tap of a finger, you can learn whatever language you want wherever you want. When I was younger, I used to study with cue cards; I would have mountains of cue cards for all of my subjects by the time I was done with studying. Now, all you need to do is download an app, and you could have all of your cue cards on one device. I think it is fantastic. The mobility of our learning is increasing by the day and it is having an interesting effect on schools.

I think that the amount of free apps that are available is helping students with not only their organization skills, but with the delivery of their course content. Apps such as Khan Academy are allowing them to learn the content in different ways in different perspectives from their teacher. It is opening up the technology sphere of learning.

For this week's e-Portfolio submission, we were asked to design an eFlyer that explains and describes some of the implications that some of the apps available on both the Chrome and Apple App Store have on education. It is embedded below. I encourage you to take a look! It was designed using the Tackk Board Program. You need to just hover the cursor above the eFlyer to scroll through the entire thing. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
